The children have experienced different kinds of painting the last few classes: rubbing alcohol and its effects on liquid watercolors, hand printing, bubble wrap, and marble painting (as a group). We have also been working on various math activities in our spare time.

It's fun with the Elephants!
We learned about elephants this week and how they are in their habitat. The children learned a new word for "family".....a herd! Don't be surprised if they refer to YOUR family this way! We had much fun learning new circus words, songs and a circus game. Looking forward to Friday's circus party and they won't let me forget to bring the ice-cream!
ART KIDZ
And....in my Art Kidz class, we continued learning about artists with Eric Carle, creator of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and other wonderful books. Mr. Carle's technique uses tissue paper and paint to create his illustrations. This unit was a big hit, as many of the children know his books.

Pee Wee Camp goes to the Circus!
Ladies and Gentlemen-boys and girls!
The circus has arrived with the children walking the tightrope, playing games, animals in the ring and riding horses!
Moving on to Monet!
Art Kamp for Kidz did their special T-shirts and learned about Monet. The children enjoyed seeing the color bursts as the rubbing alcohol met the sharpie marker ink.

Summer Time with Pee Wee Camp
We are in the thick of the summer with soaring temps but the children are having " cool time"! Pee Wee Camp started this week and Art Kidz continues with 4th of July fun this week.
We made candy dishes with red, white and blue and got to know each other on the first day of camp.
We made new friends, what a nice class of children! We practiced some math too.
Snack time is a great time to listen to some great conversations, and have a yummy treat. Happy Birthday, Ellie~
